Luang Phor Uean is the abbot of Wat Wang Daeng Dtai in Wang Daeng Municipality of Pra Nakorn Sri Ayutthaya. He is a well known monk that can be seen present in major blessing ceremonies around Thailand as he would be invited to co-bless the amulets.
Luang Phor Uean was born on 1st September BE 2483 in Ban Wang Daeng, Ta Ruea County, Ayutthaya Province. It is known that his father was a traditional medicine practitioner and was also an expert on spiritual and herbal healing of illnesses and ailments by using a combination of herbology and Khatha Akom. On top of that, Luang Phor Uean also had seven siblings.
As a young boy, he did not like being played tricks on and would not stand for such behaviour when other kids would try to bully or bother him. He would always respond by showing them he would not fall for it and would often fight back. Soon, he started to not have any problems with other kids as they knew that it is not worth trying to take him on and could cause him to respond in the same or worse manner.
After finishing primary school, he started to help out with his parents with their farming, looking after and tending to the oxen, catching fish and gathering the hay. After he completed his word daily, he would spend his free time in solitude as he did not like crowds or excitement. In his adolescence, he would spend his time unobtrusively helping his parents and being helpful towards his friends and family. Luang Phor Uean admits that by the time he was approaching the appropriate age he was ready to be ordained. As he was bored with the life of a layman and the life of a household. This was because he was observant and had seen many of his friends and family encounter life’s problems and worries and how it consumed their lives. He saw the senselessness of clinging to things which are impermanent as he saw people losing their relatives and loved ones. So even before his ordination, it had already become clear to him that the enticements of the lay life were mere chimeras and not to be trusted as a source of everlasting happiness. Partly due to his father being a spirit doctor and healer, he saw more than his share of suffering in the people who came to be treated.
He contemplated how all are born must get old, sick and passed on even the rich may be robbed or handsome may lose one’s personal beauty with age and that life brings great suffering. And so, by the time Luang Phor Uean reached the age of 22, he was ordained as a monk at Wat Beung in Ta Ruea, Pra Nakorn Sri Ayutthaya in BE 2503. Once he ordained he began to study and practice Vipassana Kammathana mindfulness methods following the Wicha of Luang Phor Dtab Wat Makham Riang, in Sra Buri. He also studied the Wicha of making Yantra Inscriptions from Luang Phor Dtab, receiving a multitude of different spellcasting methods and secret inscriptions and even the method of making and blessing of Palakit, Mitmor and other amulets.
Luang Phor Uean studied diligently with the guidance of Luang Phor Dtab for many years. Up till BE 2516, whereby he was already well-known within and the Sangha and was called upon to be appointed as the abbot of Wat Wang Daeng Dtai. And upon his position as the abbot, Wat Wang Daeng Dtai has grown continuously at a constant rate, which has served to increase the faith of the devotees in the Province and indeed all around Thailand and made Wat Wang Daeng Dtai a well-known temple.
Nowadays, Luang Phor Uean is not only well-known in Thailand but also within the nearby countries. Devotees around Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong would travel to the temple to seek for his blessings. He has also consecrated many different kinds of amulets for his devotees which are reputed for their Klaew Klaad, Metta Maha Niyom, Kong Grapan Chadtri powers. Amongst his amulets, his most sought after are perhaps his Takrut Hnaa Phaag Suea tiger forehead skin. As the Takrut was blessed using the Wicha of Luang Phor Dtab Wat Makham Riang that Luang Phor Uean had learned and the Takrut Solo Mongkol, Mitmor Spirit Knife (Wicha Luang Phor Jaem).
In BE 2559, to celebrate Luang Phor Uean’s 76 birthday, the Karoen Porn Luang Phor Uean’s Rian were released, which became a well sought-after amulet with his devotees renting it within a short period of time.
