Luang Phor Krai

Luang Phor Krai is actually a fellow disciple of Luang Phor Tuad as the both of them learned under the guidance of the same teacher at Wat Pako, Songkhla. However, when Luang Phor Tuad went to Ayutthaya to further his studies in Buddhism, Luang Phor Krai decided to go to Yala to continue his meditation. It is believed and reported that Luang Phor Krai attained a very high state of meditation when cultivating at Yala. There is when Luang Phor Krai started using his psychic power to help the villagers. He would go to the hilly and forested area of Yala and subdue all the dangerous animals there, especially tigers and cobras. This is the reason behind why we would see Luang Phor Krai sitting on a tiger and 2 cobras for the BE 2505 batch of amulet. The villagers there were able to live safely without being harmed by any of those dangerous animals. In memory of the virtues of the guru monk, the villagers decided to build a temple to honour him. The temple is known as Wat Lam Phaya.

There were plenty of stories about Luang Phor Krai who became the faith of the villagers as they passed down for centuries. Stories have it that when Luang Phor Krai was alive, his hair was able to turn into copper by itself and so if he wanted to shave his hair, a rite must be performed first before others can proceed. On 5th June BE 2505, the remaining ashes of Luang Phor Krai were invited to be placed in Wat Lam Phaya. When digging the burial ground it was discovered that when the urn was tapped, the ashes within will produce a loud metallic sound. Whereas the wood in the vicinity within a radius of 20 metres from the burial ground produced a fragrance as well as miraculous healing properties. It had the efficacy to heal the sickness of the devotees. When the ashes of Luang Phor Krai had been invited and placed inside Wat Lam Phaya. The image of Luang Phor Krai was produced and his spirit was invited to reside within the image. When Ajarn Tim Wat Chang Hai saw the images he mentioned that it was just like what he saw in his meditation. Hence, the amulet of Luang Phor Krai was consecrated during the year BE 2505 with sedges and 3 different pims.

The first batch of Luang Phor Krai amulets were consecrated in BE 2505 and subsequently BE 2506 and 2507. At that time, both Ajarn Tim and Ajarn Nong were invited to Wat Lam Phaya to consecrate the amulets. Materials used were Nur Wan used to consecrate LP Tuad amulet at Wat Chang Hai in BE 2505. Various rians were also consecrated at that time. Due to Luang Phor Tuad and Luang Phor Krai being closely related, Ajarn Tim had no problem inviting the both of them to come and bless the amulets during the "Puttaphisek" ceremony. The BE 2506 and 2507 batch of amulets is also from Wat Lam Phaya were blessed by Ajarn Tim and many other guru monks of Pattani and Yala at that time.
