Luang Phor Guen

Luang Phor Guen is the former- abbot of Wat Don. Wat Don is located in Bangkok. It is believed that Luang Phor Guen has strong mind power. And he could know something that is happening in the future.

There is a story about Luang Phor Guen and Phra Kring. In BE 2480, Luang Phor Guen started to consecrate one batch of Phra Kring as he knew there would be a war in the near future. By BE 2483-2484, the Indo-China war happened and the soldiers in Thailand would be participating in the war. Hence, Luang Phor Guen gave out this batch of Phra Kring to the soldiers so that they can be safe and sound. In fact, many soldiers that wear this batch of Phra Kring were reported to have survived during the wartime. Hence, this incident also made Luang Phor Guen become the talk of the town.

The materials that have been used in this Phra Kring were holy metals collected by Somdej Phra Sangkhraja Pae Wat Suthat. And was given to Luang Phor Guen as he needed material to consecrate this batch of Phra Kring. Luang Phor Guen also invited Somdej Phra Sangkharaj Pae to bless this batch of Phra Kring on an auspicious day. During the blessing ceremony, there were 2 incidents that happened during the consecration ceremony. The first one was that there was thunder at the ceremony. The lighting struck onto the ceremony ground during the consecration which was deemed as an auspicious sign. Due to this first incident, people started calling this batch of amulet “ Phra Kring Fapad”. Moreover, while blessing this batch of amulet, the holy thread in the ceremony fell in crucible yet the thread is not on fire. The word “Fapad” means thunderbolt in Thai.

Hence, this particular batch of Phra Kring has two names. One is Phra Kring Fapad while the other is Phra Kring Nirantaraai (Avoid all danger).
