
Ajarn Tong Tao

The ninth abbot of Wat Khao Orr is Ajarn Thong Tao. Ajarn Thong Tao was living in the same era as Somdej Toh. There was no information about Ajarn Tong Tao’s date of birth and background as it was not recorded. But what we do know is that before Ajarn Tong Tao was ordained, he had an illness. During that period of time, he prayed to Buddha and said that if he could recover, he would spend his remaining life dedicated to buddhism.
Shortly after that, he recovered. Afterward, he was ordained as a monk and stayed at Wat Khao Orr where he would study magic and mediation under the guidance of Ajarn Tong. As Ajarn Tong was the abbot of Wat Khao Orr.
In fact, Ajarn Tong Tao also learned mediation and magic from an unknown monk. This has been reported by the villagers as the villagers would call the unknown monk “Phra Hoh Dai”. The meaning of “Phra Hoh Dai” means that the monk is able to fly. During every Buddha day, the unknown monk will come to the cave of Wat Khao Orr to meditate. And only on Buddha's day that Ajarn Tong Tao would go into the cave to learn from this unknown monk.The monk would teach Ajarn Thong Tao many magic and deep meditation.
Ajarn Tong Tao was also well-known for his mind reading. There was an incident reported that once a young man went to Wat Khao Orr with a doubtful mind that Ajarn Tong Tao was a guru monk. Within a distance, Ajarn Tong Tao spoke to the local that there was a young male visitor that wanted to test his “power”. After the local told the young man about this the young man freaked out.
There is also another occasion whenby there was a ceremony and the rain started to fall, upon seeing this Ajarn Tong Tao threw his rosary into the sky. The rosary disappeared and the rain stopped. After the blessing ceremony was done, Ajarn Tong Tao just simply raised his hands and the rosary fell into his arm.
It is also worth mentioning that Ajarn Tong Tao had a strain of hair on his head whereby it cannot be cut by the barber no matter what. One day a devotee pleaded for this hair and Ajarn Tong Tao recited a Katha and cut the hair out for the devotee.
Ajarn Tong Tao was a 3 disciples as well. They are Ajarn Yied (who was the teacher of Ajarn Chum and Ajarn Kong Wat Ban Suan), Ajarn Pan (the next abbot of Wat Khao Orr after Ajarn Tong Tao passed on) and Ajarn Nam Wat Don Sala.
Ajarn Tong Tao passed away in the year BE 2470 at the age of 78.
Wat Khao Orr 最後一位以“通”為名的第九任主持,法名為帕古桑卡威猜塔榜普,簡稱為 Ajarn Tong Tao. 與阿贊多大師是同時期的一代高僧. Ajarn Tong Tao 的身世與出家經歷都沒有明文記載,只知道Ajarn Tong Tao 未出家前,曾得了一場重病. 正當非常危急時,他祈求佛祖說:如果可以病愈,將獻身佛祖終身為僧繼佛慧命. 果然不久後就病愈了,家人就為他擇吉日授俱足為僧,並住在Wat Khao Orr,向當時的住持學習法術及禪定法門.
為何Ajarn Tong Tao 的法術如何高強呢?原來Ajarn Tong Tao 曾跟一位不知名的奇僧學法,村民稱此位奇僧為“柏荷代”(Phra Hoh Dai),意譯可飛行的僧人. 每逢佛日都會飄來Wat Khao Orr的山洞裡修禪定,附近的村民經常目擊此位一仲的酌跡. 每逢佛日,Ajarn Tong Tao 必進山洞裡跟此位奇僧習法,學會許多法術及高深的禪定法門. Ajarn Tong Tao 還自創了許多法門及規律,自此掀開了Wat Khao Orr 輝煌的一頁.
自從Ajarn Tong Tao 接任為第九位的廟住持後,就開始收納門徒,許多名門望族都將兒子送來此處學習各種法術,在Wat Khao Orr 學了法術後,就具有保衛國家領土及家園的能力. 而Wat Khao Orr最基本的法術,就是練成刀槍不入的金鋼之身.
因為當時社會的法律非常松弛,隨時隨人都可以擁有槍支,一旦發生衝突或磨擦,就弄刀拔槍來解決問題. 所以當時要學法就要先練成刀槍不入的法門. Wat Khao Orr的刀槍不入法門在泰國若認第二,則肯定沒有人敢認第一.
Ajarn Tong Tao 所傳授的刀槍不侵法門可是頂尖的. 就以Ajarn Tong Tao 來作比喻. Ajarn Tong Tao 的頭上有一撮白頭發,每至月頭要剃發時,總是剃剩這一小撮白發不剃,看了煞是怪趣. 此一小撮白發不長不短,就長在頭中央. 其實這撮白發是別有內情的. 每當剃發時,都是由Ajarn Tong Tao 的大徒弟操刀. 可是每次剃到此撮白發時,鋒利的剃刀怎樣也都剃不斷.
曾有一位資深的信徒向Ajarn Tong Tao 求取此撮白發,只見Ajarn Tong Tao念了一小段經咒,然後伸出手掌往頭發上搓了一下,就吩咐徒弟將之剃了下來. 這是徒弟首次成功把白發剃了下來. Ajarn Tong Tao 把頭發分給了多位弟子,大家都如獲至寶,供於佛桌上,聽說具有防火防賊的功能.
Ajarn Tong Tao 除了法術利害之外,也擅於古方藥草療理,尤其是瘋癲症以及一切受害於降術的後遺症. Ajarn Tong Tao 法力高強是眾所皆知,所以有很多信徒慕名前來拜Ajarn Tong Tao 為師.
要進入Wat Khao Orr 的門下,須要通過三至四個步驟的考驗. 首先經過一個普通的加持拜師法會,就是要順序的飲用一杯特制的一百零八藥草經水. 喝下這藥草經水,會出現不同的反應. 如喝下去臉色紅潤,就代表這位徒弟平時有誦經修持了. 此藥草經水具有倍增修持的功效. 而有些人喝了之後就嘔吐不止,為何會有此反應呢?原來此藥草經水可把肋月裡的毒素去除,所以才會出現嘔吐現像. 除此之外,尚可驅除附在身上的邪靈或曾給人下了降頭之類的遺患. 在身體完全潔淨之後,才可授法.
接著下來就是浸藥草儀式. 首先在一個大水池裡放進一百零八種藥草莖尖,然後注滿經水. 准門徒就只穿著一條沙籠,泡在池內. 看起來非常簡單,完全不費功夫. 如果大家有這種想法的話,那就錯了.
首先要浸在經水池內至少八個小時,期間可以上來小解及吃飯,之後又得回池浸泡. 如是者重復,一共七天才算圓滿,這還不止呢? 浸在經水池裡的樹莖藥草等都有鋒利的刺,可以將浸在經水裡的人皮膚刮傷. 而經藥水就從傷口滲透進入皮膚的內層,致使身體吸收足夠的經水為止.
完成侵經水的神聖儀式之後,接著就要進行吃黑糯米儀式了. 首先准備好黑色的糯米,然後放進一個用三腳架吊起來的錫禍裡,用一百零八的藥材煮出來的經水,將之烹煮成黑糯米飯. 煮飯的木柴,全部都要寫上經文符咒. 並且起火烹煮時,必須一直加持經咒. 待黑糯米煮熟後,就要舉行喂食儀式.
首先徒弟要坐在一塊虎皮上,雙腳彎曲踩在一塊鐵枝上,雙手捉著雙腳尖. 然後師父將一塊熊皮蓋在徒弟頭上,就一邊持咒一邊將一小塊的黑糯米飯往徒弟口裡塞,總共要喂三次才算完成儀式.
此儀式只可在山洞裡或大雄寶殿裡進行. 儀式上踩鐵代表堅如鐵,坐虎皮代表威如虎,蓋熊皮代表耐如熊. 經過了這三大儀式後,就可變成百毒不侵和刀槍不入,身體也特別剛健,而且還曾長命百歲呢.
當以上的三個儀式完成後,就會經過試刀儀式. 法師會使用鋒利的大刀進行切割與斬喉儀式,甚至分派每人一把大刀切割自己以試法. 接著尚有吃麻油塊以及刺符紋身,甚至將塔固符筒植入手臂等儀式,然而這都依各人的意願而取舍. 完成之後,門徒就可以選擇自己所擅長的法術法門來修煉.
Ajarn Tong Tao 曾經流傳了許多法門給徒弟們. 而真正獲得他的真傳的入室徒弟只有三位,那就是Wat Don Sala的Ajarn Yied ,和最後接任Ajarn Tong Tao 成為廟住持的Ajarn Pan,以及早期曾出家為僧,跟Ajarn Tong Tao 學了五年法術後還俗的 Ajarn Nam.
後期Ajarn Tong Tao 擅長鑄造塔固符筒密摩法刀以及必打掩面佛. Ajarn Tong Tao 的法力無邊, 曾經有一次在露天處舉辦佛牌加持儀式時, 突然間風雲密布西下大雨了. 當時只要雨一下,將會破壞整個法會. 這時Ajarn Tong Tao 不發一言的走到法會場地血留迪恍小竣一言旳走釗雲曾場地,就將那條珠鏈往天上一扔,珠鏈竟離奇地消失了. 接著密厚的烏雲慢慢飄走,露出了燦爛的陽光. 直到法會結束後,Ajarn Tong Tao 就走回剛才的地點,將手往天上一伸,只見那條珠鏈從天上跌了下來,掛在Ajatn Tong Tao 的手上. 不一會兒,現場就下了一場大雨. Ajarn Tong Tao 在世時,曾留下了不少聖跡,至今還讓信徒們津津樂道.
直到佛歷 BE 2470年 Ajarn Tong Tao 圓寂時,享年78歲.
